Contractor of the Year

Exemplary best practice, outstanding customer service and a trail of brilliant, completed projects are just a few of the traits our judging panel looks for in winners of our Contractor of the Year award.

This entry can be submitted by the company itself or by a third party. Entries should include details of completed works, testimonials from clients and customers, and a summary of what sets them apart from their competitors. Third parties may also nominate a contractor.

Commercial Project of the Year

To be eligible for this award, projects must have been completed by 27th May 2025.

This category is open to solar-only, storage-only, or combined solar and storage installations in commercial settings.

All entries must be submitted jointly by the installer/contractor and the client, ensuring the client’s perspective and experience are fully represented.

Entries will be judged on technical excellence, innovation, client satisfaction, and contribution to advancing solar and storage adoption in the commercial sector in the UK.

Diversity & Inclusivity Impact Award (NEW)

The Diversity & Inclusivity Impact Award recognises an organisation, or initiative that has made outstanding contributions to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (D&I) within the renewable energy and clean technology sector.

This award celebrates those who have actively championed change, broken down barriers, and pioneered programmes, policies, or practices that create a more inclusive and equitable industry – ensuring opportunities are accessible to all, regardless of gender, ethnicity, background, disability, or other characteristics.

Entries will be judged on innovation, measurable impact, leadership, and the ability to inspire others to prioritise diversity, equity, and inclusion.

EV Infrastructure Project of the Year

Poor infrastructure and grid constraints remain significant obstacles to the mass adoption of EVs in the UK.

This award recognises projects that have taken a fresh and innovative approach to overcoming these challenges through the use of technology, partnerships, services, and/or business models to deploy EV charging infrastructure that supports the transition to widespread EV adoption.

To be eligible for this award, projects must have been completed by 27th May 2025.

Entries will be judged on technical excellence, innovation, replicability, and contribution to accelerating the rollout of EV infrastructure in the UK.

Innovation Award

To be eligible for this award, products must have been released by 27th May 2025.

New versions or upgrades of existing products are eligible, however, there must be a clearly quantifiable difference between the new version and previous versions, which must be clearly stated in the nomination. Eligibility will ultimately be at the judging panel’s discretion.

Nominations are open to solar-only products, storage-only products, or products that combine solar and storage technologies.

Entries will be judged on originality, technical innovation, market impact, and the potential to advance the solar and storage sector in the UK.

Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award is one of the most anticipated honours of the evening. This prestigious award recognises an individual whose career has been defined by an exceptional and sustained contribution to advancing the renewable energy and clean technology sector.

The award looks beyond the accomplishments of the past 12 months, instead celebrating a lifetime of dedication, highlighting someone who has consistently gone above and beyond in pursuit of a greener, more sustainable economy.

Entries will be judged on the depth and breadth of their career impact, lasting legacy, leadership, and influence in driving forward the UK’s renewable energy transition.

This award celebrates the successes and innovations of both primary and sub-contractors who operate and manage the UK’s solar, storage, and EV assets, either individually or as combined systems.

Entries are welcome from companies involved in:

  • Use of technology to enhance performance and efficiency
  • Performance monitoring and reporting
  • Other technical services that contribute to keeping assets operating at optimal levels.

Entries will be judged on technical excellence, innovation, customer satisfaction, and contribution to ensuring the long-term success and performance of solar, storage, and EV assets in the UK.

The energy transition has created a wave of job vacancies across multiple markets, yet the industry continues to face a major skills shortage. As the sector evolves rapidly, it is vital to attract and nurture young talent, encouraging interest in STEM subjects and showcasing the diverse and exciting career opportunities within the renewable energy industry.

Young talent plays a crucial role in driving innovation, ensuring companies remain competitive, and helping the sector meet ambitious climate targets.

The Rising Star Award highlights exceptional young professionals within the energy industry who are already making a significant impact in their early careers. This award seeks to celebrate creativity, innovation, and leadership among the next generation of industry professionals and to provide a platform for recognition and future collaboration.

Eligibility:

  • Open to individuals with less than five years of experience in the energy industry.
  • Nominations may be submitted directly by the individual or by a colleague, manager, or mentor.


Entries will be judged on innovation, leadership potential, technical excellence, collaborative skills, and their overall contribution to advancing the UK’s clean energy transition.

The Alan Clark Award for Local/Community Energy

In memory of Alan Clark, this award recognises projects that have delivered meaningful social benefit to local communities through the deployment of solar, storage, EV infrastructure, or a combination of these technologies.

To be eligible, projects must have been completed by 27th May 2025.

Nominations are open to local authorities, community energy groups, and other community-focused organisations, and all entries should emphasise the positive social, environmental, and economic impact on the local community.

Entries will be judged on the scale of positive community impact, innovation, replicability, and contribution to advancing local and community energy in the UK.

The Women in Energy Award recognises and celebrates an outstanding woman in the energy sector who has helped to drive the energy transition and empowered the move towards a more flexible and sustainable energy system of the future.

This award aims to promote the participation and advancement of women in leadership across the energy sector, drive the gender mainstreaming agenda, and support equality and equal opportunities within the industry.

We invite industry professionals to submit nominations for inspirational women who are making a lasting impact on the sector.

Entries will be judged on leadership, innovation, advocacy for gender equality, industry impact, and contribution to the clean energy transition.
